1% Poloxamer 188 is a ready-to-use solution of poloxamer 188, a nonionic triblock copolymer surfactant, in purified water. At 1%, it is a convenient intermediate stock for dosing low final concentrations. The 100 mL fill suits bench-scale and shake-flask work.

It is commonly used to protect suspension cells from shear during agitation and sparging in bioreactors and shake flasks. Adding 100 mL per liter of medium gives 0.1%. It also reduces product loss to membranes during filtration of protein solutions.
