YT Media is a nutrient-rich agar medium designed to promote the growth of bacteria, particularly E. coli. It helps sustain high cell densities and support the production of proteins and nucleic acids, making it an adaptable and reliable medium for working on recombinant DNA technology or studying bacteriophages. With double the concentration (2xYT) of yeast extract compared to the traditional LB medium, it is useful for the growth and maintenance of high density of cells for longer growth periods.
