20% Glucose Solution is a ready-to-use aqueous solution containing 20% (w/v) D-glucose (dextrose) for laboratory applications in microbiology, cell culture, and biochemical workflows.

Commonly used as a carbon source to supplement media for organisms such as Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and for preparing high-glucose media variants, feed solutions, and carbohydrate controls. Add aseptically to sterilized media after cooling below 60 °C to minimize thermal degradation of sugars.

  • 20% Cerelose Anhydrous Dextrose (Glucose)
  • Microbial Culture Supplementation: Sterile carbon source for growing Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and other bacteria in broth and agar.

  • Defined/Minimal Media (e.g., M9, MOPS): Added post-sterilization to set precise glucose concentrations for bacterial growth and metabolism studies.

  • Fed-Batch and High-Density Fermentation: Controlled glucose feeding for biomass and recombinant protein production in Escherichia coli.

  • Transformation Recovery (SOC/SOB): Supplements recovery media with glucose to improve post-transformation outgrowth of Escherichia coli.

  • Lac/T7-Lac Expression Control: Provides glucose for catabolite repression to minimize basal expression from lac-based promoters in Escherichia coli.

  • Yeast Culture and Fermentation: Carbon source for YPD/defined media and ethanol production with Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

  • Mammalian Cell Culture Glucose Adjustment: Sterile stock to raise or maintain glucose levels in media during cell expansion or fed-batch processes.

  • Carbohydrate Utilization/Fermentation Tests: Substrate for phenotypic assays in Enterobacteriaceae and other bacteria.

  • Osmotic and Stress Response Studies: Used to modulate osmolality and assess bacterial stress adaptations.
